Gibson Vintage Reissue Strings- OMG!

posted May 06, 2014 17:18:05 by stanton.kramer
I started a thread on pure nickel strings, but just wanted to speak specifically about the GVRI strings... I put them first on my Chibson. It made such a huge difference that I tried them on my Epi LP as well...

In short, if you have an LP and haven't tried them then you may be missing out. As the Zohan would say... "Silky smooth". The only other strings I have an interest in trying now are the Curt Mangan pure nickel. IMO the GVRI's were a significant upgrade.

Anyone else use em?

Not yet but I'd like to give them a try.

I'd give them a try, but I don't think they make 7 string sets :D but I'm a huge fan of ernie ball slinkies because many people don't like them: they loose their shiny-new sound in a week... and then comes the sweet, buttery sound I die for :D

ParéjJózsef,

Make sure you try out the new M-Steel from EB when you get a chance. I got a few sets when they were just launching them around NAMM, they are -awesome-.
