I don't get that feeling at all. They're still taking custom orders, and I even had Cathy asking if I wanted to order something else since it's been a few months since my last one from her.

I can confirm, some sellers were not interested in building a relative simple order for me.

I have to wonder what sort of simple orders they're turning down. Maybe it's got something to do with the way it is requested?

I've had no trouble getting almost anything I want from these sellers, and only a handful of times have they said "We cannot do that" which to me means, they're incapable of pulling off a build so I wouldn't be interested anyway.

I mean my last two builds I sent them photos of, and they replicated it with (what I feel) are several modifications.

And then there's this, and while I feel like I certainly paid out the arm for a custom build I got exactly what I wanted.

I just find it hard to understand that people get simple orders turned down when I can get something completely customized pulled off.

^ I would guess that many of the people asking the sellers about customized guitars are kids/goofballs/dreamers who will never actually follow through with an order, people who are trying to pit one seller against another to try to save five bucks, and other kinds of time-wasters. So an inquiry from an unknown party about a custom guitar might well get the brush-off, depending on how many other messages are in the seller's inbox on any given day.

However, once you've established yourself as an actual money-having, non-flakey, multiple order placing customer, naturally you're going to get the VIP treatment.

I suppose its hard to say what percentage of demographic are timewasters but I can assure you I dont fit in either of those categories. The seller was kind enough to "ask the factory" before replying a straight "sorry - I cannot do" . I greeted Linda with a "have a nice day" and went onto the next seller. I provided the exact same specs and communicated the exact same way on chat. He agreed to take on the order and I paid shortly after. The deal was closed in less than 10 lines of chat.

Chicken and Egg conundrum.
I look forward to repeat business with the seller I chose.

Not the way its requested, sometimes the sellers simply don't want to do business.
The last guitar I was looking for was a PRS in a different color with the Modern Eagle logo on the headstock. Some sellers did not want to build it, others asked for prices in the 450$+ range.
